Champagne Glasses waiting to be used
This is for the Cut Over tonight.
My bday present
Ling bought me a shirt for birthday present. It's the exact brand and size. Similar to the one Mei bought for me except that it's in a different colour. I still like it though I would have preferred fine-dining. Suhyi said she'll SMS me 'Happy Birthday'.

Useful Ling
Was working feverishly on the PNS Database at night. Ling decided to pack thew wardrobe. She got rid of a lot of junk most of the old clothes. Now our wardrobe looks neat & tidy.
My first iPod song
My Ipod finally worked. Got Mei's help in using iTunes to add songs to it. Ling had a field day making fun of me asking Mei for help. Quite disappointed that Chinese Song titles appeared as rubbish in iTunes. The first iPod song I listened to is 'I Love Chopin'.
Facts - Work on weekend
Today is Suhyi's birthday. Messaged her 'Happy Birthday'. But no reply from her.

Lousy Curry Vegetables from Colbar
Don't order it. The long beans are not well cooked.
Cat on a Car @ Bukit Merah Library Car Park
Drinks w Laval
Laval met me @ my office. We dropped Song Jing, picked Ling up from Bukit Merah Library and went to Colbar. Was flipping through the Street Directory when Colbar just appeared out of nowhere. Had dinner and foreign Cider there. But I didn't like the taste. Mine was too sweet and Laval's was too bitter. Decided to move elsewhere for cheaper drinks. Where else but the coffee shop near my house. Had another 2 bottles of Carlsberg. This is my first visit to the coffee shop on a Saturday evening. It was real packed. When Laval wanted to order a plate of Fried Rice. We were told that we had to wait 45 minutes. Naturally we didn't go ahead with the order. Most of our time there was spent looking @ a German guy w his pretty Singaporean wife. She can put some of the young girls to shame even after having 2 children. The German guy's parents were here as well. The kids were curious and liked to run around. But they were generally well-behaved. I'm quite glad that the wife speaks to her Eurasian kids in Mandarin. At least it will be good for the children. I'm even more impressed that she spoke fluent German. Ling drove the 200 metre journey home. But @ the stretch of road behind the Coffee Shop. Laval & I walked in front of and behind Ling while she drove. It was as if we were a funeral procession. The Kenari is also black in colour. We went back home for Kahlua.
Still cannot use iPod
My Ipod still refuses to work. The latest version if Ipod Nano only works w iTunes version 7.4 and above. Win 2K doesn't support iTunes version 7.4 and above. I think I'm not destined to use it.
ID Migration
Been busy over the last 2 days with ID Migration. For the first time in many months, I worked until 10 pm. Most of my work so far have been monitoring those scripts. Not much brainpower needed yet. Ling came by and waited to go home w me after her shopping. Received a message from Doris first thing in the morning asking about the ID Migration script. Checked the logs and saw that the first batch of IDs were only done @ 9 am. That was a dramatic slowdown during the night. When I went back to office, David & Song Jing were already there. We decided to carry on with the 2nd batch as indexing the damn OID would take another 5 hours.
Kelisa is back
Mas from Perodua called. My Kelisa will be ready on Monday. I certainly missed my Kelisa. The current Kenari drinks petrol the same way a drunk Russian consumes his vodka. Mummy is also collecting her Honda on the same day as well, it certainly is an excellent arrangement.

Overseas Staff
Heard from Yew Mun that some GELC BAs are in town. Lily is one of them. I remember her as one of the girls who can really drink. She probably didn't recognise me when we walked past each other. Qin Penghong enquired about Fitness First membership. He told me that he's going to be in Sg for at least a year. The East Wing on the 12th floor is fast becoming a United Nations of IT Staff with Malaysians, Indonesians, Vietnamese and Chinese.
Car Saga
The never-ending car saga followed it's script. Wilson did not show up @ 9 am. So Mummy gave him an ultimatum until 10 am. Of course, he didn't show up. She then booked an appointment w Stanley @ 1:30 pm so that she can deal with Kah Motors directly. Looking back. It was a good thing we got Mummy's IC from Wilson last night. Ling said that I'm too merciless. I think that's the only way to deal w rats. You don't entrust your IC to a rat, you lock him up in a cage. Anyway, Mummy settled the car with Stanley in the afternoon. There's a 50% chance that we'll get it next Monday.

Quiet office
It's unusually quiet for my office. @ 8:35 am, I expect some sort of activity. But instead, I can even hear Aihua chewing on soft bread. Has everyone become Zombies? Are they going to attack me tonight? Where are the humans?

Ladies' night @ Arena
Fetched Mei & Wee Meng down to Arena (It's ladies night tonight). Was talking to Wee Meng about manual cars. Like me, he shows a very keen interest in driving. I think he'll take over the car from his sis once he passes. Back to Clarke Quay. I wonder what's so attractive about that place. My first and only visit lasted less than an hour. But to be fair to them, it was 9 pm then and the place was empty. The place was jam-packed w… empty cabs. I don't see many people around. God knows how long those drivers spend on diesel keeping the engine running while waiting for their business. If you think Mei looks Malay, I think she looks even more Malay in her clubbing attire. Is this the new clubbing trend? As usual, she'll be going to Sam's house after clubbing. 1 of her friends may be driving. Even clubbers are finding the cab fares disgusting. Some of them rather wait until morning for the buses to start.
Some F&B @ Adam Road
Met Edwin for some impromptu drinks & supper @ Adam Road. We were talking about the movie 'I am Legend'. He said that everything was bad except Will Smith's acting. 2 out of 2 people (The other is Mei) who have watched 'I am Legend' have said that it's not good. That makes it a 100%. I'll degrade 'I am Legend' from 'Watch in Cinema' to 'Rent DVD'. My conversation w Edwin is one reason why I like to write blogs. Since both of us read each other's blogs, we can always do away with the 'What have you been doing' shit and go down to more intellectually stimulating conversation like Orchard Towers, Will Smith's acting & new watering holes.
Bird Park trip
Ling & Suhyi went down to the Bird Park yesterday on the GE pass. Suhyi's Mum, Huiwen & the baby (I don't remember the name) went along coz the pass admits 4. From the photos, it seems that getting the pass for them was worth it. They fed the parrots and in Ling's words, the toddler kept 'jumping up and down' in excitement as he kept saying 'bird.. bird.. bird'.
Lost track of time
Was fined a grand total of $2 for returning Simpsons & High School Musical 2 - 1 day late. There were too many holidays until I lost track of the number of days. I kept thinking that it's Tuesday today as if Xmas Day just came and went in a whisker.
My iPod
Wanted to play around with it. The printed instructions told me tersely to download iTunes and said nothing more. Download iTunes I should. But not using GE's proxy, which at times feel slower than my singnet dialup. So bottomline is that I don't get to use my ipod today.
New function @ poopyhead.net
Added the thumbnail functionality to my family tree. Finished well ahead of scheduele since there are no distractions. Set an example by adding the thumbnails of my family. Not their best photos. But good enough to know who they are.

New driver
I have been encouraging Ling to drive over the past few days. She has been improving day by day. She set a new distance record (by going to Yishun) and speed record (80 kmh) too. But she quickly handed the wheel back to me for the journey home.
Sequins
I learnt a new word from Mei today. It's those shiny things you see on dresses. An example would be 'Her boobs shook so much that those sequins on her dress flashed about like Xmas lights.'
Duped & Trapped
Can't believe I got duped into a 1-hour plus shopping trip and still survived. My E61 & T7 kept my sanity as I'm trapped in a labyrinth in what people sometimes call a shopping paradise.
Shopping @ Bugis
Went down to Bugis w Ling & Mei. Original purpose was to get clothes for me. Bugis Street turned out to be a ladies' shopping paradise. For every shop that catered to guys, you get to see 10-over shops pandering to the gals' needs. It now looks like a Chatuchak w ventilation and less culture + variety. It's also not a good place for the claustrophobic. In certain parts, the ceiling is just above your head and you have no idea what time of the day it is or what the weather outside is like.
Blue Specs
I'm still wondering who left his (don't a girl wears this) blue specs behind. Ling suspected Khin. But he wasn't. Remaining suspect should be Wilson in which case it'll remain in our house since I won't cross paths (hopefully) w him in future.

Wendy's gift
Wendy called today to say that she ordered a cake for me. She came all the way in the afternoon just to pass it to me. So pai se that I didn't get a chance to say Thank You. But will make it up to her next month.
Tonight's Party
Wonder how tonight's party would be like. I'm in no mood for it @ the moment after yesterday. Let me go through my guest list. Raj, Jackson, Yeo, Lawrence, Andy & Alex. Thinking of cancelling Mahjong. Just want a quiet drink.
Taking bus home
Purposely took 961 home to avoid Orchard Road (Orchard Car Park maybe). Looks like a good decision as there are still ample seats available when I boarded the bus along Upper Cross Street.
Vertical Rush Hour
Lifts are all jammed up. It's the peak hours. After all, it's Xmas Eve and everyone in GE wants to leave office ASAP.
Online Family Tree - Brainstorming w Zijie
Zijie called regarding it. We were brainstorming ideas on how to improve it. I think it's a crime in Singapore to put people's birthday/marriage date online. So we settled for the next best thing. Thumbnails. We can put thumbnails in the family tree. That definitely spice up the tree. Question is where to get the thumbnails. Ever since my old Seagate HDD crashed, I don't have those thumbnails anymore. Will have to dig out from those wedding photos and crop them individually.
Some bright spots
Very appreciative of Chris to enquire if I was alright after all that happened. I don't know how to describe it. But small gestures like this always touches my heart. Forget about mass Xmas Greetings. This one sits above all of them.
Unusual Xmas Present
Valerie & Irene gave me an Aromatherapy Contraption. I could see that they've put in effort to wrap it well. To be exact, it was more for Ling & me. I didn't know how to work it but with Suhyi's help, Ling managed to light it up. Not sure if it's supposed to calm people down. But if it does, I sure need it after such an 'eventful' Xmas Party.
I took a bus!
My first bus ride in a long while. Left the Kenari @ home for Mummy while Bus 174 took care of my transportation needs. Nothing spectacular about it except for the fact that the fare has risen by 1c to $1.29.

Pre-Party Jitters
Xmas 2005, Xmas 2006 & now Xmas 2007. Of all the 3 parties, I have the least confidence in pulling the one tomorrow off. I never had such negative thoughts for the last 2 parties. For a start, there'll be no catering. All the food will be home-cooked. There's even a 'green' theme to it. Real plates, forks and spoons will be used. Mummy even suggested that we provide glasses instead of plastic cups. I wonder how everything would turn out. Next is the guest list. Am I relying too much on Facebook for the party? I realised that I spent a considerable amount of time over these 2 days reminding my non-Facebook friends about this party. I have this recurring nightmare that nobody will turn up. Sometimes, the nightmare is that everyone turns up but everything else cocks up.
Thankful for them
Quite thankful to Ling's parents for helping for my Xmas Party. Even as I'm writing this right now, Ling's Mum is cooking Ngoh Hiang. Ironically, they can only attend the party @ night after they close their stall.

Daddy's Birthday
It's Daddy's birthday today. So we decided to make a trip down to Garden of Remembrance. This is an excellent final resting place. The niches are all almost dust-free even though my previous trip here was on 10 July earlier this year for Daddy's 2nd death Anniversary. Daddy has left us for almost 2.5 years already. I wonder how life would be like if he was still around. He could have sat in my Kelisa. He could have attended my wedding. He could have attended all my Xmas parties. But life is very unexpected and we should look forward. I believe Daddy is in a much better place w Jesus looking @ all of us from upstairs.

IT Xmas Party
Esmirada after-party
Decided to go Esmirada for drinks after that w Ling, Khin, Huiling, Anil & Alex Khoo. Had some unhappiness w a waiter.
Me : Do I have 1 for 1? I'm a member here.
Malay Waiter : Only for you. Your friends don't have.
Me : Does that mean that if I just order those drinks for myself I'll get 1 for 1?
Malay Waiter : If you can finish all I'll give it to you. (Sarcastically)
Later on he asked for my Membership Card after I asked for the 1 for 1 for my own. I told him my name and that's the standard practice for all of us members here. He didn't really want to accept it. So I just stormed into the bar where Alex was also drinking w his friends and asked if they want my thumbprint and IC. Alex came to calm things down and I shook hands w the waiter. Alex even bought Ling a double-shot of Bailey's. Anil & Alex Khoo left early to go Double O & St James. I doubt they'll enjoy themselves. So only Khin, Huiling, Ling & me were left. Had a good conversation though I didn't remember much of it. Huiling is also now in my 'People who can play pool list'.

IT Xmas Nite
This event was much better than the previous year's. Khin & Jinny were very good MCs on the stage. The main event of the show was a talentime contest. But from the names of the contestants. It's obvious that they were all from ROME team. Which means that they were arrowed. Khin dragged me to sing with him. The title of the song is 'Open Arms'. Oh man. Why must I sing such a song w a guy? He could have chosen 'Friends' or some other similar theme. Can't believe it when it was announced that Khin & I won 3rd price. That means $200. We even finished above Redzuan. Some Filipino guy won the thing. He was the only decent performer on stage. Zhang Hong won 2nd price for his solo/guitar rendition of a Chinese song. I voted for Mai even though the violin performance was a forgetable one. I felt that she put in a lot of effort. Koh Wee sang Silent Night. He had a good voice. But the speed of the music and his singing were too congruent. Raymond, Christopher & Princess were the judges. They were good choices. Each had different personalities and interesting words from their mouths. I won an Ipod Nano in the lucky draw. This is my first major prize in a lucky draw. So I shoud say it was a great success!

Fully-utilised OPC Coupon
Went many places today w Kelisa's maiden trip using an OPC Coupon. Dropped Ling @ ADRC. Went Margaret Drive for breakfast. Went Bukit Merah to pay conservancy charges. Went Peninsula Plaza so that Terence can buy his bag. Went E Centre @ Redhill for Terence to service his lenses. Went back to Peninsula Plaza for Terence to look @ camera bags again. Went Hooter's @ Clarke Quay. Went Alexandra Village for Claypot Laksa. Went back to E Centre. 9 trips and still counting. Went back home. Went ADRC. Went Orchard. A total of 12 trips!
Stefan's wedding
Attended Stefan's wedding last night. Yeo couldn't make it and Val stayed for only 1-2 hours. Shiao Wei didn't turn up. Daniel turned up for last than an hour. This sums up the pathetic attendance @ my table. There was only Agnes, Ling & I. Of course food was plenty, alcohol was free flow and service was good. I look @ the neatly uniformed staff and thought that any of them could have been Mei. Wanted to go Esmirada originally. But by 11:45 pm, everyone was still partying @ Shangrila. So Ling & I decided to go home.

Change in Flight times
Checked Mummy's & Terence's flight details. Saw that Mummy's flight from New Delhi via Bangkok was delayed from 10:20 am to 11:19 am. Terence's flight from Penang was confirmed to land @ 11:37 am. Ahead of a scheduled time of 11:50 am. So they end up arriving @ almost the same time compared to scheduled difference of 1.5 hours.
Cat and Mouse
Went Tanglin Halt market for Ling to do some marketing and have her breakfast. As usual, parked right in front of the hawker stalls. A police patrol car came. The drivers all fled like mice party being cut short by a snarling cat. I tried going to the Free Car Park. No space @ all and there are waiting cars all over. Went back to the hawker centre. The 'cat' was still there waiting for any returning 'mice'. Decided to wait @ the season-only car park next to the ATM for Ling.
Marriage
A friend wrote an intriguing but idealistic article about Marriage in her Notes on Facebook. Won't reproduce it here though. It's quite idealistic, I feel, to talk about endless love lasting a lifetime. A marriage is more than just love. Love is always in flux. It's either on the way up or on the way down. If you can quantify love in to units like lovebytes, the readings are always changing from day to day. So when the lovebytes are low on a certain day, there's something called responsibility to see the marriage through. Those who use love as a fuel for their marriage will get disillusioned when the fuel tank is empty and the marriage vehicle just stops.

Wrapping Xmas Gifts
Thao & Suhyi came over and helped to wrap Xmas Door Gifts for my guests. Really appreciate that as I don't have a clue to all these aesthetics. Each door gift was wrapped in a bundle w Xmas Colours. Don't think the guys would take the door gifts though. By 12:30 am, only the presents were wrapped. Told them to leave the spraying of that white thing to my friends on the actual day.
Mahjong w Granny
Ling's parents came over to have a mahjong session w Granny. No matter how frail Granny is physically, she's still very alert when it comes to mahjong. She even managed to win a few games.
麻繁
Thao wanted to meet up. So Ling set up a gathering and called Suhyi too. Suhyi said that it's quite 麻繁 if I pick her up from Jurong East beforew going back to her house for the door gifts. I think it's more 麻繁 because now I need to convince her that it's not 麻繁 and still pick her up. But it was good of her to wrap door gifts for my guests and to help me w the decorations. I think on the actual day, I don't need any much help already. But I still don't mind fetching my friends to my place coz for this year, I didn't buy any presents or cards for them. Thinking of that, maybe I should be getting something...

No more Honda from Monday
Wilson just called. He'll be collecting our Honda on Monday. But the good news is that our new Civic will be here on 27 Dec. So the whole family will depend on our trusty Kelisa for next week.
Facebook pool
Kiat called me when I was on the way home and asked me to play Facebook pool w him. I obliged after dinner. It's very difficult to aim and the rules are queer. Your opponent gets 2 tries when you foul. The view is also very pixelated. It's obvious from my ranting that I got my ass kicked.

The predicted 'flood'
The sunny day made a mockery out of the weather forecast by meteorologists in the newspapers today that there'll by 'Unusually Heavy Rain' today. We were even told to prepare ourselves for flash floods. Yeah, the flood did came. Flooded w sunlight you mean.
AA Café
It's quite a decent place. The lady in charge gave me a discount as I'm a regular customer. My Fried Rice was cooked by one of the guys there and he even offered to bring chilli for me. I enjoy having drinks @ such a place. It's very quiet, no one else is around, it's air-conditioned and you seem to know everyone. Feels a bit like home but with air-con everywhere. When the lady saw that Lawrence was sick, she even offered to toast bread (Of course not for free but @ a very cheap price) for him.
Chris's farewell lunch
Stephen called me to go Sushi Tei and join the lunch gang coz it was Chris's farewell. They all win already lor, finish lunch then call me. But good lah, can save some $$$. Sushi Tei is not known for it's cheap meals. The 9 of us were squeezed onto a small tables. What made it more awkward was that the girls were in one row and the guys in other. To the unsuspecting, it definitely looked like a speed-dating session. Most of the conversation was on Andy's ideas and Second Life. I have a lot of views on why I don't like Second Life. But I'll save it for another day. Frankly, I'm amazed at how many ideas he has. I can probably only match him when I'm high on drugs. I almost forgot that we were there for Chris's farewell. Almost dropped Irene's camera while taking photos.

My T7 died @ Esmirada. It was after 4-5 attempts in turning it off and on before it was willing to work normally, but it recovered when I got home.
Esmirada trip
Didn't expect myself to go Esmirada. Let alone bring Laval there. What can I do. I'm in shorts and slippers. I'm in town and I'm running out of options. An even more unexpected things was running into Alex there. What I paid was for just 2 pints of Hoegaarden. But Alex & co got their hands on some leftover wine from some wine tasting event. That means free booze. So we drank.
Ling's shorts
Ling's shorts is finally w Ling's Mum and it's no longer in the car after 3 long weeks. Even then, we forgot to unload it @ Ling's home this morning. But it finally found it's home after Ling's Mum took it down w her to the canteen.
The Eubiq
Read about it on Digital Life. It's a good solution for the clutter of wires currently in my room. How it works? The sockets are mounted on a metal rail. You can simply adjust the position of the sockets so that they are always @ the neares point closest to your applicance. But @ $200 it's not worth it. It's the price of an appliance itself. Digital Life also never mentioned any place that we can purchase it. Went googling for it. Saw that it's quite a raw product. We need to do stuff like drill holes into walls. Manually route the 'live' power cables (that means shutdown the mains) into the Eubiq track. Their website seems geared towards Corporate Customers. So no Eubiq for me.

Taken @ Sim Lim Tower
Not sure if they have the AC/DC Adapter that I want, but they DEFINITELY have AC Parking.
Xmas Decorations
We put them up @ night. Ling brought back Xmas lights from office while Suhyi bought some more deco. We got the thing to spray those white powder onto the glass doors. But I'll reserve it for my friends during my party. Ling was the creative one as she decided where should the deco go. The most impressive one was the Xmas Lights. We placed it right above the front door of our house and ingeniously ran the lights through a vent into a socket next to a TV. Would have liked some photos. But was too preoccupied w my family tree on my mind to snap.
My online family tree
Worked on my family tree in the afternoon. Got the base code to work pretty quickly. The hard part is the alignment. When I left @ 5:30 pm, I'm still fighting w the html table structures. It was only when I got home that I managed to figure out the whole thing up. Celebrated it by calling an early night.
Sea Games 2007
Tried to look for some Sea Games results from the net. Unfortunately, the internet coverage for the games have been quite poor. The official website didn't even publish the results from the games. All we could see was who won what medal. Trawling through the sports makes a farce of the Games. I didn't know that you can get a Gold Medal from Jive Dancing. Of course, Thailand won all the Gold Medals from the dance sports. Has anyone heard of Petanque? It's Wiki page states that Petanque is 'is a form of boules where the goal is to throw metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet (jack). The game is normally played on hard dirt or gravel, but can also be played on grass or other surfaces. Sandy beaches are not suitable.' Sounds like giant marbles huh? Maybe they can make Yoga a sport too.
Sim Lim Tower - My last hope and eventual saviour
Thinking of going to Sim Lim Tower so that I can locate the elusive AC/DC adaptor. It's proving to be elusive when even Autobacs doesn't have it. Sim Lim Tower sounds like a good bet because it has all imaginable and unimaginable electrical gadgets. Got more than I bargained for @ Sim Lim Tower. Not only did I get my AC/DCADapter @ $22. I even got my DC/AC Adapter @ a relatively cheap price of $46. Sim Lim Tower is really my shopping place. There are all sorts of electrical products here. For some of them, I seriously don't have a clue what are they used for.

AC/Car Adaptor + Service Standards
I'm wondering where to find it. Maybe Autobacs has it. The 2 staff that I asked @ Carrefour yesterday knows jack shit about it. One said, 'Sorry, I'm only promoting so-and-so product' when he's wearing a Carrefour T-Shirt. The other just suggested I look in the adaptor section. They are courteous no doubt. But this shows their lack of training. A well-trained onewill refer me to the correct person in charge and not give the 'I don't know' or 'Not my department' reply.
T7 headed for retirement
My T7 is beginning to show some signs of ageing. Its LCD Screen was flickering badly for a few seconds last night. It happened again today. Is it time to look for fresh blood?

Mysql Server
Just downloaded and installed a local copy of mysql server on my T41. I feel that having a database is the long term solution for all my data. My data has spanned so many domains that using Excel is no longer viable.

Daddy on my blog
Added Daddy's data onto poopyhead.net so that I could build my family tree. It was a poignant moment as I keyed in his Full Name followed by his Chinese Name followed by his birth and death date. My family is finally complete. I symbolically created an account for him on poopyhead.net as well. If I see him log in, I'll know it's him.

Xinhui put this on Irene desk
She put it on Irene's desk thinking that no one is sitting there. Surely she can see my laptop right? I even thought that someone had put it in that delibrately so that I can still work w the umbrella there. Geoard suggested having a picnic there.
Happening KTV
Last night's KTV session definitely kicked ass. My prediction is correct. When the hype for the event is no good, it usually becomes a kick-ass night. Last night was no different. I thought with so many people not knowing each other well, we'll only get muted enjoyment. But it turned out extremely well. My smuggled beer from Sheng Shiong started the ball rolling. It was $18 of good shit from Sheng Shiong. 2 Bear Beers and 2 Carlsberg Specials. Large cans of course. Xinhui & Jinny didn't drink though. But they made up for that with their good singing. Alex even ordered another 2 jugs of beer on top of what we already drank. By then everyone was quite high liao. Played pool w Albert just to see who finishes the mug of beer. Good thing that I won and Albert ended up downing it. So it's no surprise that Albert ended up puking along South Bridge Road. The photos simply show how fun it was.
Stuck in the rain
Kelisa is just 50 metres away. No news from my friends. I'm alone. Marooned on that loading & unloading bay with nothing but the air-con vents and cars for company.
Cooling down @ 8:10 am
Doing it in office makes more sense than idling @ Fitness First. At least I can work (What's work exactly? That's another topic.) on my T41 at the same time. Not that I care a lot about work. But I care a lot about my blog and my Facebook profile. Recently it's been quiet as the initial flurry of friendship requests has died down. Now whoever is there is there. Whoever is not there will not be there. My #1 favourite section is the status section. This is followed by f-mail, which lets me get onto g-mail.

'Impressive Dance Competition' Video
As Pauline said, it was quite touching. Also nearly brought tears to my eyes. 马麗 made it look too easy. But I can tell you that it's damn difficult. It's hard to balance the way she did w 2 arms. She did it perfectly w 1 arm. The one-legged guy made lots of able-bodied guys like me look like babies learning how to walk.
Fingers faster than brain
Shit! Just deleted the 'Impressive Dance Competition' video after spending a painstaking 40 minutes downloading it (All 11MB) of it from Youtube using dialup. Here we go again… click… zzz.
http://parentswish.com/site01/big.html
Mummy sent it to me. Somehow it brought tears to my eyes. Made me think of a lot of stuff. I think sometimes we children behave like this because it hurts us to see the degeneration in health and mind of the people we love. We are frustrated that we are slowly losing the loved ones that we know. Bit by bit.
Inertia
Through force of inertia, I got a strong urge to stay where I am in office and not to bathe. But still, the idea of stinking out my colleagues drags me onto my feet and off to Fitness First for a shower.

Strong winds
The winds are damn strong @ Fitness First. Some of the deck chairs got blown into the pool! I'm currently taking cover on a deck chair behind a pillar.
Linkedin.com
Created an account there. It's a professional version of Facebook. Recommended by Gabriel last Saturday during the family gathering. Didn't like it at all. It's too corporate and has a very 'Networking' feel about it. Suitable for people who like to put up a front. I won't even provide a link to it.
Cold Weather
Was constantly buffeted by strong winds while sleeping @ Fitness First. I could feel my body being swayed by the winds. That was how strong the winds was. The pool had ripples that almost looked like waves. After an hour, I actually felt cold. For someone who bathes in cold water during the Hong Kong winter, this is COLD. The kind of cold where you need a sweater. I didn't have a sweater. The next best thing was a hot drink.
Hangover
Was surprised that I could wake up @ all. Have a bit of headache from lack of sleep and from last night's night clubbing. The walk from Outram Hill to office improved things and the sleep beside the pool @ Fitness First was heaven.

Expensive drinks
The 2 Pints of St Miguel's @ Barracks cost us $30. Thought that place was too expensive so Edwin, Ling & I scouted around for another watering hole. We entered Quaru Bar. Hoegaarden was going for $17 per pint. I was so pissed @ the price that I said 'Fuck lah! Just go!' and left the place and back to Barracks to wait for Kiat to finish.
Photo Exhibition
It's a novelty for me. The first ever photo exhibition that I went. I've not seen so much beautiful photos under one roof. There are also forgetable ones. Like the one taken @ Punggol field towards the HDB estates. There's no subject and theme. I noticed that a lot of the guys there are gays. The location is also apt. Right @ the furthest corner of Dempsey Road. The jungle just lay next to the building. Sounds like a good place for an afternoon beer. But the price tags of the beers there make it a bad idea. Unless we do it BYOB.

A visit to Sitex
Went to Sitex. Was prepared not to take any brochures at all until I walked past the Fujitsu Booth. Saw a girl holding a Fujitsu U1010 and explaining its features to an Indian guy. I've not seen something like this since Sony launched its palm-sized laptop. It definitely piqued my interest as I circled around the booth. Took a brochure from the girl. The U1010 has 2 USB ports and a touch screen. The previous PDAs failed for me because Windows Mobile just don't have the functionality of a full-fledged Windows XP. It comes w Vista. Fujitsu better provide XP Drivers for it. If not, it will be a complete shame.Crowds could be found @ every booth except those belonging to insurance companies. I wonder how many policies will they sell @ Sitex. Imagine someone saying "Hey! Guess what I bought @ Sitex today! A 30-year endowment policy. It's the latest version!"
Thoughts @ 3 pm
My T7 is back so photos will make their re-appearance on my site. The whole site feels so wordy without a camera. I can understand how Phoebe feels without her camera now. What should I do later? Should I go for Sitex? Or should I just go bathe @ Fitness First? I think I'll just go for the Sitex since Fitness First doesn't really open once a year. I'm quite worried about those ants on Granny's skin. Mummy & I are hoping that it's just that her skin is dry and not something worse.
